Yesterday:

Was so frustrated with my quintet's clarinetist. Selfish brat. Only he is busy and has things to do lah. Others are so free sitting down all day and swat houseflies.

Had a pleasant surprise when I bumped into Frau Neumann at the school bus-stop outside FASS. luckily I could still answer her "Wie geht's?" with "Es geht mir gut!" But that's about how far my spoken german would go le. Scheisse...Forgot so much german. She doesn't look that bad now that I had a better look at her. I used to think her hair looks like she came out from jail - her hair length doesn't even reach her ears and it's cropped to one side.

After quintet (people were late as usual), I stayed behind to scrape my reeds. Suffered a few cuts on both thumbs which bled of course...Only got two can-play reeds out after 3hrs. Sigh. Got chased out by the security guard twice. When I looked for him to unlock the doors, this was what he said:

Ah Singh: Girl, I have to chase you out cos the lifts will be locked at midnight. Then you cannot leave the building.

Me: *Big Grin* Then I'll stay overnight lor. Haha... (I've always wanted to do that one day)

Ah Singh: You don't want to stay overnight here. After 1am, they all start coming out.

Me: *stunned look*

Ah Singh: I'm not bluffing you. I see them. But I don't disturb them, they don't disturb me. *proud look*

Me: Uncle...!!! *I gave him the it's-nearing-1am-please-don't-tell-me-ghost-stories pleading look*

Ah Singh: It's true! Uncle not bluffing you! They're here... *in the lift*

Me: Uncle!!! Please don't say anymore!!!

I begged him to accompany me to the lockers, which are at the end of the corridor, and left the building in a hurry. 我真没用。

痛。。。

It's not a good feeling to be thought of as/accused of something you're not. Especially if it comes from someone whom you really care about. That hurts.

Perhaps I should let go. Of my fear, my insecurities and everything to do with it.

Stay away from Panadol!

This is taken from a forwarded email:

My husband was working in a hospital as an IT engineer, as the hospitalis planning to set up a database of its patient. And he knows some ofthe doctors quite well.
The doctors used to tell him that whenever they have a headache, theyare not willing to take PANADOL (PARACETMOL). In fact, they will turn toChinese Herbal Medicine or find other alternatives.

This is because Panadol is toxic to the body, and it harms the liver.According to the doctor, Panadol will reside in the body for at least 5years. And according to the doctor, there used to be an incident wherean air stewardess consumed a lot of Panadol during her menstrual as sheneeds to stand all the time. She's now in her early 30's, and she needsto wash her kidney (DIALYSIS) every month.

As said by the doctor that whenever we have a headache, that's because it is due to the electron/Ion imbalance in the brain. As an alternativesolution to cope with this matter, they suggested that we buy 1 or 2cans of isotonic drink (eg.100PLUS), and mix it with drinking wateraccording to a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 (simply, it means one cup 100plus,one cup water or 2 cups water).

I and my husband have tried this on several occasions, and it seems towork well.

Another method will be to submerge your feet in a basin of warm water sothat it brings the blood pressure down from your throbbing head. As Panadol is a pain killer, the more Panadol you take, the lesser would beyour threshold for pain (your endurance level for pain).

We all will fall ill as we age, for women, we would need to go through childbirth. Imagine that we had spent our entire life popping quite asubstantial amount of Panadol (Pain Killer)...so when you need to have asurgery or operation, you will need a much more amount of general anesthetic to numb your surgical pain than the average person who seldomor rarely takes Panadol.

If you have a very high intake of Panadol throughout your life (Migraine, Menstrual cramps) it is very likely that normal general anesthetic will have no effects on you as your body ispumped full with panadol and your body is so used to pain killer thatyou would need a much stronger pain killer, Morphine?

Value your life, THINK b4 you easily pop that familiar pill into yourmouth again. Please send this to people you care about.

Quite True!!!

Your Existing Situation

Physical illness, over-tension, or emotional distress have taken a severe toll. Her self-esteem has been reduced and she now needs peaceful conditions and considerate treatment to permit recovery.

Indeed...

Your Stress Sources

An existing situation or relationship is unsatisfactory, but she feels unable to change it to bring about the sense of belonging which she needs. Unwilling to expose her vulnerability, she therefore continues to resist this state of affairs, but feels dependent on the attachment. This not only depresses her. but makes her irritable and impatient, producing considerable restlessness and the urge to get away from the situation, either actually or, at least, mentally. Ability to concentrate may suffer.

I don't think I'm particularly irritable or impatient due to what's stressing me up...
Na ja...will just leave it to the divinity at work to resolve whatever needs resolving if it's not up to me to decide.

Your Restrained Characteristics

Willing to participate and to allow herself to become involved, but tries to fend off conflict and disturbance in order to reduce tension.
Feels that she is receiving less than her share and that there is no one on who she can rely for sympathy and understanding. Pent-up emotions make her quick to take offense, but she realizes that she has to make the best of things as they are.

I don't actually feel shortchanged. My friends are here for me and I'm glad for their care and concern. Pent-up emotions disappear fairly quickly and as long as I'm not provoked on the issue, I'm fine with it.

Your Desired Objective

Her need to feel more causative and to have a wider sphere of influence makes her restless and she is driven by her desires and hopes. May try to spread her activities over too wide a field.

I don't know about this...spreading of activities over too wide a field, maybe. :p

Your Actual Problem

Anxiety and restless dissatisfaction, either with circumstances or with unfulfilled emotional requirements, have produced stress. She feels misunderstood, disoriented, and unsettled. This drives her into a search for new conditions or relationships, in the hope that these might offer greater contentment and peace of mind.

I think so?

In a rehearsal last semester

Found this old picture taken from Jeroen's camera while he was in YST to visit. Jeroen's dutch and plays fugelhorn - he was having an exchange last semester at NTU. Adrian brought him down to Philwinds when he just came to Singapore, so that's how I got to know this dutch friend!
